Strut Meeting - Visit to Suffolk Aviation Heritage Group Museum from 7pm
The museum is locatted in, Foxhall Road, Kesgrave nr Ipswich. (IP10 0AH)
It has a large car park, so there shouldn't be any problems with parking.
Directions to Museum
The Suffolk Aviation Heritage Museum opened in 2008 in the generator block, on the site of a former US military communications centre (where the big radio towers were)
The groups main aim is to detail the history of aviation in Suffolk.
One of their other projects to to raise funds for a memorial Statue to Edith Maud Cook, Britain's first female pilot, who was born in Ipswich.
It is only a small museum and won't take long to explore, although one of the Trustees, Colin Durrant, will be on hand to give our group a talk on the history of the site and museum.
Also in one of the out buildings, not normally open to the public, is a Bleriot monoplane which is currently being build. This will be able made available for us view and Telford Thomson (known as Tom) the builder will be on hand to tell us about the project and answer any questions. Tom has send a
couple of photos taken during the construction to wet your appetite:
The museum will be open to us from 7pm, so if anyone coming can aim to arrive by 7:30pm (our meeting time), and then Colin can give the tour/talk around 7:45pm. There is a small tea room and drinks/nibbles will be available to purchase.
Normal admission is Free (donations welcome!), although as they are opening up especially for us I would suggest a £10 donation to the museum funds/Edith Cook fund.

Strut Meeting - Meet-up at Highwayman Pub from 7:30pm
With a very successful Boxted this weekend just gone, where there was a good turn out of strut members, it could almost be have been classed as the July Meeting, especially as I haven't got any thing else specific planned for the normal 3rd Wednesday date.
So just to keep something on the calendar, this month's meeting will be an informal meet up at the Highwayman pub, to reminisce on the day at Boxted and any other topics of interest, over a drink.
For those new member who haven't been there before, the Highwayman pub is on the A140 (northbound) very near to the turn off for Crowfield Airfield

Strut Meeting - Fly/Drive out to Clacton
As the June meeting almost coincides with the longest day, the plan is to have an evening fly-out to Clacton for Fish 'n' Chips.
Clacton are happy for us to fly in and there are at least 3 cafe/restaurants that look large enough for lots of people if we want to eat.
Suggest arrive at Clacton arround 6pm, and then to head out for the sea front by 6:30pm
Pilots will have to phone Clacton before 5pm on the day for PPR and briefing. If people want to go by road they are welcome and Steve has offered to supply a minibus

Strut meal and social evening
The Strut holds an annual dinner - usually in February, to which partners and friends are invited.
This year, as we have had a lot of new members join the Strut, we are
changing the format a little to make it easier to mix, chat and get to know
each other better, by having a finger buffet instead of a formal meal.
The details are:
When: Wednesday 7th March from 19:00
Where: The Highwayman (on the A140 opposite the turning to Crowfield Airfield)
Cost: £18 for the buffet, the Strut pays for the drinks on arrival
It would be really great to see as many of you there as possible, especially
new members and partners.
Please can you let Tony Turner () know ASAP, but DEFINITELY before 26th February if you
plan to attend and also if you have any special dietary requirements
