Strut Meetings / Events 2006
20th December 2006 Strut meeting - Christmas Quiz

As further enticement (as if one were needed!) there will also be drinks, mince pies and nibbles provided.
15th November 2006 Strut meeting - Visit to Wattisham to see the Apache Helicopters

There are 16 places available so afraid it will be on a strictly first come, first served basis. Please reply to this email to reserve a place.

There are some quite tight rules in order to comply with their security requirements:

  • We need to be at the Main Gate at 5.55pm and anyone arriving after that time will NOT be admitted.
  • Only 4 cars will be allowed onto the base so we will need to car-share and I have to provide registration numbers for those in advance, along with a list of those attending.
  • Everyone will need ID in the form of either a passport or a driving licence with a photograph on it.
  • No photography will be allowed in the Apache cockpits and it has been requested that you make sure pockets are empty of anything that may fall out and get lost in the cockpit.
Once I have a list of people wishing to attend, I will post further details about where to assemble etc etc.

28th February 2006 Strut Social Evening

Following the problems of arranging our long awaited social evening for January and my bold promises at the SCS meeting last evening I have the following proposal to offer (non negotiable)

An evening for SCS members, their partners and other local GA aviators (at our invite) at ‘The Lion’, Little Glemham, Suffolk (IP13 0BA – postcode - on Streetmap UK etc. will get you there) – private function for us, Tuesday 28th Feb at 7.30pm.

3 course meal with 3 or 4 selections for each course, the whole pub to ourselves so can have speakers/entertainers.
18th January 2006 Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control it looks like the proposed dinner at the Highwayman on Friday 20th will not be taking place.

We don't have any events lined up for January now so it is looking like the usual default plan i.e. the Sorrel Horse. Perhaps we could discuss saving Monewden. We also need to organise this year's strut events.

It would be useful to know who intends turning up.
